Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we went a field trip with Kamryns Girl Scout troop to the Happy Apple Farm in Penrose. We went on a hay ride out to the pumpkin fields, picked our pumpkins, then got a ride back to the farm house...

Life with a disabled child isn't always easy, but I can find at least 1 thing a day to laugh about, because she is so dang funny. This is about life with Bryttaney, a 16yo special needs kiddo who has OCD, anxiety disorders, a hearing loss and learning & developmental delays (she is about 2nd-4th grade in her skills and thinking). And about Kamryn, her 11 yo sister who is going on 16 but has a heart of gold. We share this asylum with 3 large dogs, 2-4 cats, a ferret and a talking parrot named Quincy.

Through Bryttaney I have found my faith. I thank God and Jesus for her everyday, because without God, she would not be here (of course neither would Kamryn lol), but it was the power of prayer and God that Bryttaney survived her birth and has lived this long. Bryttaney has taught me to laugh at the ridiculous, laugh at myself and to have patience.
